Our Story
Where Culture and Cuisine Unite
Filoxenia, Fili, the Greek word for hospitality, emphasizes the importance of friendship, food, and libations. Throughout the history of Greece, there is a long and storied tradition of hospitality. From the Illiad to the Odyssey, the concept of hospitality is an enduring one.
Emorfili, Fili, hailing from the close-knit village of Xirolimni, shares a kinship with the warm hospitality seen in ancient and modern Greek life. In her upbringing, cooking and sharing meals weren’t just rituals of recipes passed on from previous generations; they were a vibrant celebration of life and connection.
Estiatorio Fili understands the profound importance of dining with good friends. Just as the iconic Greek film “Zorba the Greek” embodied the spirit of conviviality and zest for life, we believe in creating an atmosphere where the presence of cherished companions enhances the dining experience. We invite you to gather your own cast of friends, make new ones, and savor our flavorful dishes. Enjoy the Hellenic inspired atmosphere—a genuine celebration of the cultural richness that emerges when friends unite around our table.

Posted on Opentable LeeAnnVerified This is my favorite place in Providence. Beautiful modern space, delicious and stylish food, lovely gracious service. Highly recommend!Posted on Opentable JudithJVerified Our first time and it won’t be the last. Everything we ordered was delicious. It was our anniversary and we ordered Tirokafteri, Spanakopita, Horta and Keftedes. Seeing we are 49th yr together, we celebrated with glyko—Portokalopita and Baklava. Sitting at the bar was comfortable and we enjoyed talking to Sophia who graciously guided us through the menu. Very peaceful dining experience. A perfect evening!Posted on Opentable RamonVerified Our waiter and the rest of the staff were wonderful. The owner introduced himself and we chatted for a while. The food was delicious and we loved the small plate sharing idea. We will definitely go back.Posted on Opentable RobertVerified Not a single dish was disappointing. Every bite was a pleasure. Lovely ambience.Posted on Opentable elaineVerified Another delicious experience at our favorite Greek restaurant. Zara was our server and she was exceptional. The food is always amazing - love the saginaki! Noise level was fine when we got there but as the restaurant filled up it was a little loud. Not a problem, more like great energy!Posted on Opentable GiovannyVerified Great authentic greak food amazing drink. A cozy gemPosted on Opentable RobertVerified Outstanding food and excellent service. Happy to go again and again.Posted on Opentable StephanieVerified Everything was amazing we will be back ! New favorite spot !Posted on Opentable CarlaVerified Very friendly staff, nice clean aesthetic, and the food was amazing! However they only offer “small plates” so if you are looking for a full meal, you may be surprised. But we had an appetizer so it was fine for us. And the wine was served in stemless wine glasses which I personally don’t like but that was one minor detail
